Who We Are
Eating Disorders Recovery Resources and Recovery Support Network is a nonprofit organization that provides peer support and advice to those suffering from a variety of eating disorders and eating issues. This organization strives to offer those working on recovery, their families and loved ones, and others the resources to help in the journey for recovery. Online support communities, support groups, family resources, coping strategies are a few of the resources provided through this organization. This organization works closely with ANAD, national Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders. With their leadership, what we do could not be possible.
Our Mission
Eating Disorders Recovery Resources and Recovery Support Network is a website that provides peer support and advice to those suffering from a variety of eating disorders. This site strives to offer those working on recovering to discuss their illness in an unbiased and nurturing environment. We believe that the biggest accomplishment is providing support while allowing the people to remain in their current atmosphere. Not having to adapt to new surroundings or be removed from one’s current surroundings allows the recovering part to solely focus on getting support and recovering.
What We Do
Millions of people struggle with eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia. Many have turned to the Internet to seek supportive communities to help with their recovery. There are tons of message boards out there for disordered eaters. But sometimes these boards can be unhealthy environments for those who struggle with eating and weight issues, through postings, which are 'triggering', or angry statements, which do not build positive rapport within the community. And since most message boards are not regularly moderated, it can seem hit-or-miss to actually find the community you seek. The Eating Disorders Recovery Resources & Recovery Support Network, in conjunction with ANAD, provides an online peer support community that is 100% private and 100% geared towards supporting recovery. It is the first online community to have 24-hour moderation of all topics posted and interactions on the site. In addition to the online community, there are peer group support workshops, peer self support workshops, and overall peer support of recovery. Eating disorders don’t turn off at certain hours, and providing online moderation and communities 24-hours a day, many will with professional support, can reach their goals of recovery.
